Such bowling birthday cake would be a good sweet treat for a bowling themed birthday party. This is one of the variations of bowling cakes for kids, this one in particular, is a pink and purple bowling cake for girls. To transfer this one into a bowling cake for boys, it is just needed to change colour of the fondant to blue, green, yellow or any other neutral or boys colour and make a fondant figure of a boy.

This is a two-tier chocolate cake with a light and creamy cream cheese, thickened whipped cream and vanilla custard filling. I coloured filling in pink. It looked bright and girly with a chocolate cake.

I covered this bowling birthday cake with marshmallow fondant. All this bowling cake decorations are also made from marshmallow fondant. I am about to learn how to make sugar paste and modelling paste to get even better results in making fondant cake decorations.

I decorated this bowling birthday cake for girls with fondant bowling pins and fondant bowling bowls. There are some flat marshmallow fondant bowling pins around bigger and smaller tiers of this bowling birthday cake. To make it look more like girls bowling cake I decorated these fondant bowling pins with fondant flowers and purple stripes. In addition to pink and purple fondant covering the bowling cake I brightened it with some yellow fondant flowers and pink and purple ribbons.

Bowling game is all about great emotions and lots of fun. I wanted to express it with some bright stars sticking out of this birthday bowling cake for girls. I made them with thin wooden skewers and pink ribbon and stars made from marshmallow fondant and coloured purple sugar. Covering fondant decorations in coloured sugar gives them more volume, edgy surface, pretty sparkle and some extra sweetness.
